[There's the Earl he knows.] I'll be waiting.

[And waiting, he is. At the stove, as promised, already wrapped in apron. But rather than messing about with the chocolate he promised to make, he's tending tea, waiting for the boy to return home.]

[sweetlies]

[He knows Ciel won't keep him waiting too long. If nothing else, he's a boy of his word usually. And he heads right to the kitchen as well, looking for Undertaker and, actually, half-expecting to smell chocolate already.]

You waited for me?

[somakemelaugh]

[He can hope at least. But he's not left wanting for long at all. By the time Ciel gets to him, he's sitting at the table with a cup of tea ready in front of him, looking through a recipe book as best he can read it. He looks up when the boy approaches.]

I did. Would you like tea before we start?

[sweetlies]

[He moves right up to Undertaker's side, peeking at the book and smiling a little still.]

Mm, that sounds like a good idea actually. That way we'll have something else to focus on instead of sampling the chocolate. [Except that probably won't stop him.]

[somakemelaugh]

[He doesn't expect that to stop him at all from getting chocolate all over them, once it's done. The book is more or less forgotten as soon as Ciel mentions tea, and though it's not the parlor and the boy isn't his guest, he'll set that aside and get up to make him a cup.]

I expect you should anyway. I'll be doing enough of that myself. How else will we know if we get it right?

[And he'll help the best he can, getting out the sugar and some biscuits for them to nibble on awhile. In another life, he might have been a good helper.]

Well... Sampling and sneaking tastes are different. [Which implies he'd be trying some anything.]

[That's his good little chef's assistant.]

I expect there should be a good bit of this. If you don't, well, what good are you? I'll not make this for myself.

[sweetlies]

[He finds lately that he actually does enjoy helping.]

No? Even if the chocolate could be used for cookies later on?

[Of course he does.]

Especially then. I'll insist we use it all for something or another.

[sweetlies]

[Maybe it's just because Undertaker keeps it fun.]

I'm sure we'll have no problems finding something that needs chocolate.

[Between them? Never.]

If we can't, I can find a recipe book in the library, but I had a few ideas on that too. [Here, have tea.]

[sweetlies]

Oh? What kind of ideas?

[He's curious. And accepts the tea with a smile and a soft 'thank you' before he sips at it.]

Decoration, cakes, chocolate milk... They have all manner of recipes that use this stuff and I'm curious as ever.

[He gets himself a bit of tea and sits with Ciel to finish it.] The big question is, what do we try first?

[sweetlies]

[Undertaker should know Ciel will be biased.]

Cakes and chocolate milk sound good.

[Sweet things. Of course.]

[He does, and he can approve of this kind of bias.]

They certainly do, but we might not have enough for both at the same time. We'll just have to make more chocolate than we can handle. [He lifts a finger to his chin and ponders with a soft little sound. Then, after a minute...] We may need to enlist your father to help.

[sweetlies]

[Hmm... the choice between cake and chocolate milk is a hard one. Both are delicious but-]

Cake then? That way we can all enjoy it once it's ready. And still a bit warm. [Warm and the icing gets a little melty-

He grins.] Between father and I, you'll have to keep both our fingers out of the chocolate! I'm sure he'd like to though.

[somakemelaugh]

[It really is. Decisions, decisions, decisions!]

A valid point. [Really though, they'd have to fight him to keep him out of the batter right with them. They may not even get to the point where they can eat the finished product.] He might need to be the adult here and help us out. None of us can be trusted with these things.

[sweetlies]

[The three of them really are terrible influences on each other. They might actually need someone like Tanaka to keep them out of mischief...

They only have each other though! And so the cake batter may have to suffer a bit for it!]

We really can't be. Especially you and I, if past... situations are anything to go by.

[somakemelaugh]

[Their chocolate supply will be in so much danger... It thought previous abuses of its tastiness were bad!]

I still maintain that you started each and every one of those.

[sweetlies]

[They'll just have to keep a larger supply then, won't they?]

I object. I'm still a gentleman! [He'll give that he's responsible for half. Maybe.]

[somakemelaugh]

[That would be nice. Good thing he works in a cafe.]

Exactly. You'll do as you well like and we both know it. All that power goes to your head while I have to fight tooth and nail for my helping. Woe is me for being born to a commoner! [Such drama!]

[sweetlies]

[Good thing, indeed.]

I'm a perfectly well-behaved young man. [Just a little, maybe dramatic, sniff. As the thought of putting chocolate on Undertaker's face passes his thoughts.] You've certainly the nails for it, even if I'm sure I've never seen you have to fight for anything.

[somakemelaugh]

[Shenanigans! He doesn't believe it and he'll gladly say so.]

I'm sure you are, milord. Perfectly well-behaved until you're faced with anything, especially treats. But we won't worry about us having to fight for anything. Worst case, I'll put you to sleep with the sugar content and make a batch of it for myself.

[sweetlies]

[He's 'insulted,' dear Undertaker!]

You don't think that will just keep me up and tormenting you even longer? [ahem] If such an upstanding citizen like myself were capable of such torment.

[somakemelaugh]

[Then his job is done.]

Oh no. I imagine you'll be tempted to continue the abuse, and I do know you're more than capable. But I've my weapons of sugar at my disposal to contend with as well. It'll be a battle to write stories about, I'm sure.
